“It’s not what happens to you. It's what you do with what happens to you.” Chris Waddell
One Revolution is seeking applicants and will award five $5,000 grants to individuals with disabilities to wish to tell their story of turning the perception of disability upside down through short film. Individuals with disabilities, teams, groups and filmmakers are all eligible.
Presented to more than 100,000 students across the nation to date, Nametags™ educational program challenges the assumptions and limitations that result from the labels that we give ourselves and others.
1 Revolution is an award-winning film that captures Waddell’s very human journey as the first paraplegic to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro almost entirely unassisted.
It’s not what happens to you. It’s what you do with what happens to you.
Nametags™ is One Revolution’s educational program, which has been presented to more than 100,000 students and more than 400 schools throughout the US as well as Russia.
One Revolution wants to help you turn perception of disability upside down. Do you have an idea for a short film that forces people to discard their belief that “disabled” means “less”? Do you have an idea that will make the world see you instead of the wheelchair, prosthesis, speech impediment or anything else that qualifies as a disability? We want to help you make that idea a reality with one of five grants of $5,000.
